In February, the Drone Coalition announced the third international tender for the supply of multi-rotor reconnaissance drones for the Ukrainian Defence Forces. The partner countries have already decided to allocate €20 million from the joint fund for the purchase of tactical ISR (intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance) UAVs. This was announced by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine on 24 March.
The equipment is expected to be delivered within three months.
“We are grateful to our partners for their prompt response to a critical need. This solution will allow our military to more effectively reconnoiter the area and increase situational awareness on the battlefield, which is key to successful operations,” said Deputy Minister of Defence for Digitalisation Kateryna Chernogorenko.
The Ministry of Defence noted that Ukrainian developers were again able to take part in the third tender, and they are currently undergoing the first stage of selection. Applications are now closed.
The Drone Coalition is an international initiative that brings together Ukraine’s allies to provide the Armed Forces with modern unmanned technologies. The project is being implemented within the Ramstein format under the auspices of Lithuania, the United Kingdom and other partners. Its goal is to create a high-tech advantage on the battlefield and large-scale drone deployment.
Ukraine has already received hundreds of attack and reconnaissance drones from the coalition, as well as the opportunity to promote its technological solutions on the international market for military UAVs.
