The European Commission has prepared a list of proposed duties on US goods totalling €72 billion in response to threats of US tariffs on cars and auto parts. Reuters reports after reviewing the list of proposed EU duties in response to US tariffs.

The goods on the list include Boeing aircraft, bourbon whiskey, automobiles, chemicals, medical devices, agricultural and food products, fruits, vegetables, wine, beer and spirits worth €6.35 billion.

On Monday, after the EEAS ministerial meeting in Brussels, European officials said they wanted to avoid a tariff war and remained open to dialogue.

European Trade Commissioner Šefčovič stressed that the Community is determined to protect its business and will take all necessary measures if the talks with Washington fail.
