In 2024, the World Bank signed 28 agreements aimed at supporting Ukraine. Their total volume was $31.8 billion, of which $22.9 billion (72%) were grants, Danylo Hetmantsev, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, said in a Telegram message .

The largest project, which accumulated $26.3 billion in funding, was the Public Expenditure Support for Enhanced Sustainable Governance in Ukraine (PEACE) project. The funds were used to cover budget expenditures, including payments to low-income families, IDPs, people with disabilities, families with children, and salaries for healthcare, education, and emergency services.

In addition, a significant portion of the funds was used to finance the eRestoration programme (Project HOPE), which provided nearly 83,000 households with compensation for repairs to partially damaged residential buildings.

The ARISE project financed affordable loans and grants for farmers, enabling nearly 100,000 small farmers to receive about $230 million in support.

According to Hetmantsev, as of 1 February 2025, the World Bank’s portfolio in Ukraine consists of 21 projects (29 agreements) totalling $14.40 billion and €1.05 billion in borrowed funds, as well as 16 projects (17 agreements) with grant funding of $17.77 billion and €50 million.
