Prices for early white cabbage in Ukraine continue to decline due to excess supply over demand, according to analysts of the EastFruit project.
Currently, the price of cabbage for the 2025 harvest ranges from 24-32 UAH/kg ($0.58-0.77/kg), which is 20% less than a week ago.
Reasons for the price drop:
- Massive supply of vegetables from Ukrainian farmers.
- Sluggish demand from wholesalers and retailers.
- Limited shelf life of cabbage – purchases are made in small batches.
“Most farms are forced to reduce prices due to market oversaturation,” the report says.
At the same time, despite the current fall in prices, cabbage this season is 3.6 times more expensive than last year at the same time.
