The Verkhovna Rada has adopted in the first and second readings draft laws No. 13305 and No. 13306, which exempt from import duty and VAT fibre optic components used in the production of drones for defence purposes. This was announced by Danylo Hetmantsev, Chairman of the Parliament’s Finance Committee.
What is provided for by law:
- Draft law No. 13305 – amends the Customs Code and exempts critical defence goods from customs duties
- Draft Law No. 13306 – amends the Tax Code and cancels VAT on similar import transactions
These changes relate to fibre optics, which is a key element in drone control and video transmission.
According to Hetmantsev, the adopted regulations will create favourable conditions for the mass production of UAVs in Ukraine, which are critically needed for defence in the ongoing war.
