Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said that the country needs to find an optimal balance between supporting the economy and meeting the needs of the Defence Forces. He said this during the Kyiv International Economic Forum, stressing that a transparent system for booking specialists is key for business under martial law.
“A fair and transparent booking system is one of the most important issues for business. We have to find a balance between a working economy and the needs of the Defence Forces. It is necessary for key specialists to be able to work and for defenders on the front line to receive the necessary rotation,” Shmyhal stressed.
The Prime Minister added that the list of critical enterprises will be audited by 15 November. During the audit, companies that are about to expire will be able to extend their specialist booking if their booking was valid until 31 May this year. Following the audit, the government will present updated booking rules that will ensure the necessary balance between economic interests and the country’s defence needs.
This decision is aimed at supporting strategic sectors of the economy, while at the same time maintaining the proper rotation of military personnel on the front line, which is especially important for maintaining the combat capability and morale of Ukraine’s defenders.
