The hryvnia is strengthening its position against the dollar at the start of the new working week. The average dollar selling rate in Ukrainian exchange offices decreased by 5 kopecks to UAH 42.20, while the euro rose by 10 kopecks to UAH 44.35. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to market monitoring data on Monday, 27 January.

According to the updated data, the dollar is bought in exchange offices at an average of UAH 41.70, and the euro at UAH 43.65. On the interbank market, the US dollar exchange rate is fluctuating between 41.84 and 41.87 UAH/USD (buy and sell), which is also 5 kopecks lower compared to the previous day’s close.

The official exchange rate set by the National Bank for Monday is UAH 41.9253 per dollar (-0.0498) and UAH 43.9168 per euro (+0.2459).

The decline in demand for foreign currency last week had a positive impact on the hryvnia exchange rate. The dollar fell by 20 kopeks, dropping below 42 hryvnias.

Experts note that the stabilisation of the hryvnia is the result of the National Bank’s confident actions, reduced pressure on the foreign exchange market and the revitalisation of exporters.
