The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine has extended the transitional period for the implementation of new requirements for the form and content of payment documents until 1 March 2025. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance.
Previously, this deadline was set for 1 January 2025. The change in the deadline is due to the length of time required to approve and register the relevant order. This decision will provide businesses with an additional two months to adapt cash registers and software cash registers to the new standards.
Special conditions for duty-free shops
According to the new rules, duty-free shops will be able to issue receipts in the old form for the first three months after the changes are implemented. At the same time, they will be required to include passport details of customers, as well as detailed information about alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.
Legal grounds for the changes
The new requirements for payment documents were approved in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine and Other Laws of Ukraine in connection with the introduction of electronic traceability of turnover of alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and e-cigarette liquids”. In addition, the amendments take into account the peculiarities of taxation during martial law.
Further actions of the Ministry of Finance
The Ministry of Finance said that the draft of the new order will be submitted for state registration to the Ministry of Justice in the near future.
This solution is important for entrepreneurs, as it allows them to avoid rushing to implement new standards and ensure a smooth transition to the updated payment system.
