The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine has called on Greek companies to join projects to reconstruct maritime traffic. This was discussed during the Ukrainian-Greek business forum held with the participation of representatives of 10 leading Greek companies, the Ministry of Development reports.
Deputy Minister Maryna Denysiuk stressed that maritime infrastructure is critical to Ukraine’s economy, and the country sees Greece as a strategic partner in its recovery. She thanked Athens for its practical assistance, including the use of the ports of Thessaloniki and Alexandroupolis for alternative exports of Ukrainian grain, which was a response to the Black Sea blockade.
The Ministry is ready to present to Greek companies the Maritime Connection Reconstruction Plan developed in cooperation with Estonia in early 2024. The document envisages the modernisation of ports, the development of logistics and the creation of safe routes for shipping.
The participation of Greek businesses in maritime reconstruction projects opens up new opportunities for bilateral partnership and economic growth in the region.
