The World Bank will provide Ukraine with $4.8 billion under the PEACE project to finance key budget programmes. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal in a post on social media platform X on Friday, 22 November.

“This is a very important contribution that helps finance key budget programmes during the war. We are grateful to the United States and development partners who are funding this aid, providing critical support for our country and our people,” Shmyhal said.

The Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the World Bank for its constant and unwavering support of Ukraine in difficult wartime.

The PEACE project (Public Expenditures for Administrative Capacity Endurance) aims to support vital budgetary expenditures, including social benefits, salaries and other critical programmes.

This financial assistance is a testament to international solidarity and support for Ukraine in its struggle for independence and stability.
