Ukraine is taking another step towards deeper integration into the Euro-Atlantic defence space. One of the enterprises of the Ukrainian Defence Industry Joint Stock Company (Ukroboronprom) has signed a memorandum of cooperation with KNDS Belgium SA, a well-known ammunition manufacturer and supplier to NATO armies, including the Belgian army.

This was reported by Ukroboronprom JSC.

According to the memorandum, the parties agreed to organise joint assembly of medium-calibre rounds used in automatic guns to destroy manpower, light armoured vehicles and low-flying air targets.

“We are gradually expanding the geography of international partnerships and looking for new areas of cooperation. This benefits both the Defence Forces of Ukraine and our defence industry, which seeks to integrate into the global NATO arms industry,” said Oleh Hulyak, Director General of Ukroboronprom.

KNDS Belgium is one of the key players in the ammunition market, designing and manufacturing a wide range of products for NATO, EU countries and other international partners. This cooperation opens up new technological opportunities for the Ukrainian defence industry, accelerates its adaptation to NATO standards, and strengthens the country’s defence capabilities.
