Ukraine’s energy sector increased budget revenues by 13% in 2024 – DiXi Group

In 2024, energy sector companies transferred UAH 129.44 billion to the state budget, which is 13% more than in 2023. This was reported by DiXi Group analytical centre. “In 2024, the state budget of Ukraine received UAH 129.44 billion from the energy sector, of which UAH 86.38 billion was excise tax and UAH 43.06 billion was rent,” the analysts said.

Despite the growth, energy companies’ budget revenues have not yet reached pre-war levels. In 2021, the budget received UAH 134.74 billion from the industry, with the largest revenues in 2024:

  • UAH 66.29 billion – excise duty on imported fuel

  • UAH 10.78 billion – excise duty on fuel produced in Ukraine

  • UAH 8.43 billion – excise duty on electricity produced in Ukraine

  • UAH 0.87 billion – excise duty on imported electricity
