Ukraine’s exports of goods reached a record $3.8 billion in October, the highest figure for the whole of 2024, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine has reported. According to First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko, exports increased by 18.7% in October compared to September.
“The significant growth in exports was made possible by the expansion of agricultural supplies. In October alone, exports of agricultural products grew by 32.3% in value and 33.8% by weight,” Svyrydenko said. The total exports amounted to 10.9 million tonnes, up 26.2% month-on-month.
The largest export items in October were sunflower, safflower and cottonseed oil ($447.2 million), corn ($363.6 million), wheat ($318.2 million), soybeans ($260 million), rapeseed ($239.2 million), iron ore and concentrates ($166.8 million).
Ukraine exported most of its goods to Poland, Germany, Spain, Italy and Turkey, with deliveries to the EU reaching $2.38 billion, up 15.8% compared to September. In total, since the beginning of 2024, Ukraine’s exports have reached $34.6 billion, and, according to Svyrydenko, may exceed last year’s figure of $36.2 billion.
