The American investment company Berkshire Hathaway, headed by legendary billionaire Warren Buffett, continues to reduce its holdings in the tech giant Apple. According to Reuters, Berkshire has sold more than 600 million Apple shares this year alone, but it remains the most valuable asset in its portfolio. Currently, Berkshire’s Apple shares are valued at USD 69.9 billion.
According to the company’s quarterly report released on Saturday, Berkshire sold about 100 million Apple shares over the summer, which is about 25% of the previously sold shares. Buffett’s company still owns about 300 million shares of the iPhone maker, which still makes up a significant portion of the portfolio.
In the third quarter of 2024, Berkshire Hathaway sold $36.1 billion worth of assets, including a significant portion of Bank of America shares. Despite the large-scale sales, the company purchased only $1.5 billion worth of shares, indicating Berkshire’s cautious investment approach amid volatile global markets.
