President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Germany will become a key partner in the development of joint arms production, as Ukraine trusts this country to transfer its sensitive defence technologies. He said this during a joint press conference with German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius in Kyiv.
“We cannot share our technology with all partners, as there is a risk that it could end up in the hands of an aggressor. That is why we choose those we really trust. We trust Germany,” Zelenskyy stressed.
According to the President, this includes both the organisation of production directly in Ukraine and the establishment of cooperation lines in Germany. This will help not only strengthen Ukraine’s defence capabilities but also expand technological and industrial cooperation between the two countries.
“This will be beneficial for both Ukraine and Germany,” he stressed.
Zelenskyy’s statement once again confirms the strategic depth of Ukrainian-German defence relations, which are strengthening against the backdrop of ongoing Russian aggression.
