Yesterday, the IDF and SHABAK announced in a joint statement the elimination of Namar Hamid, a Hamas terrorist involved in a deadly 2003 terrorist attack that killed three IDF soldiers. The operation took place in the north of the Gaza Strip and led to the destruction of 20 Hamas terrorists from the Shati Battalion, including a sniper who killed Tal Laat, a fighter of the Maghlan Special Forces.

Namar Hamid, a resident of Ramallah, was sentenced to six life terms in 2005 and deported to the Gaza Strip as part of the Shalit deal. He was convicted for participating in the terrorist attack in Ein Yabrud on October 19, 2003, which took the lives of three servicemen of the “Duhifat” battalion: Elad Polak, Roy Yaakov Solomon and Erez Idan.

Along with Hamid, Izz al-Din Aqeela, a high-ranking terrorist from the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade (the paramilitary wing of Fatah), and Muhammad Abu Khatab, a sniper and platoon leader of the Shati Battalion, were eliminated.

This successful operation was part of Israel’s ongoing efforts to fight terrorism and ensure the safety of its citizens. This is reported by Time Ukraine Israel, referring to the IDF press service.
