American entrepreneur Elon Musk said that Starlink satellite communications will continue to work for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, regardless of his personal attitude to Ukraine’s politics.

In a message published on the X platform on Sunday, Musk stressed that he was not going to disconnect Ukrainian military units from the satellite internet network, despite his disagreements with the Ukrainian authorities.

“To be absolutely clear: despite how much I disagree with Ukraine’s policies, Starlink will never turn off its terminals. I’m just saying that without Starlink, Ukraine’s communication lines will collapse because the Russians can jam all other communications. We will never do that and will not use this as a bargaining chip,” Musk wrote.

His statement reiterated the role of Starlink as a key element of the Ukrainian army’s communications infrastructure. The system ensures stable communication on the front line and allows the military to coordinate actions in the face of Russia’s electronic warfare.

The Ukrainian military has repeatedly emphasised the importance of satellite internet, especially in areas where traditional means of communication are unavailable or subject to enemy jamming.

Musk has previously expressed contradictory views on the situation in Ukraine, but he has repeatedly assured that Starlink will remain available to Ukrainian forces.
