Washington, USA – Billionaire Elon Musk’s influence on US politics and the economy is becoming increasingly controversial, even among his allies in the Republican Party. Despite his close ties to President Donald Trump, Musk has begun to cause discontent among Republicans in Congress due to his interference in the legislative process and government financial policies.

Musk vs Congress: conflict over budget issues

According to Politico, Musk has been actively influencing budgetary processes, including forcing Republicans to withdraw the government spending bill in December 2024. His actions have led to increased tensions in the Republican Party, as many members believe he is encouraging Trump to demand the impossible.

Some Republicans agree that Musk supports reducing the size of government, but his radical actions, including massive layoffs of federal employees, have drawn serious criticism. There are already voices in Congress about the need to limit Musk’s influence on public policy.

“It is time to set limits” – discontent is growing

Despite the fact that Trump has given Musk enormous powers, the Republican Party is beginning to signal that his power cannot be unlimited.

“Musk has been involved in difficult legislative battles before. Together with Trump and J.D. Vance, he forced Congress to abandon a bipartisan bill, which caused serious irritation among Republican leaders,” Politico notes.

Musk’s actions are beginning to cause concern not only among politicians, but also among ordinary Americans who consider his behaviour unpredictable and threatening.
