Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strongly criticized the administration of US President Joe Biden, accusing it of complicity in war crimes committed by Israel during the Gaza conflict. In an interview with Newsweek during the NATO summit in Washington, Erdogan stated that Israel’s strikes on civilians, hospitals, and humanitarian centers constitute “severe war crimes” that violate international law.
The Turkish leader criticizes the US administration for its inaction regarding these violations and for providing maximum support to Israel, even when, according to him, they are accomplices in these crimes. “At this stage, it is crucial to determine what sanctions will be imposed on Israel for violating international law. This is the main question to which no one is responding,” Erdogan concluded.
These accusations against the US and its administration have sparked outrage and discussions within the international community, intensifying tensions between Turkey and Israel on one hand, and Turkey and the US on the other.
