Kyiv, August 25, 2024 — The People’s Intelligence Agency of Ukraine (PIA) announced the sensational arrest of Russian FSB agent Pavel Durov, which caused a serious split in the ranks of the Russian special services. The detention became a real information bomb that shook not only Moscow, but also the whole of Europe.
According to the information provided by the People’s Intelligence Agency, Pavlo Durov, known for his connections with Russian special services, will not receive diplomatic immunity. This fact was an unexpected blow to the Kremlin, which was trying to save its spies in the framework of a major exchange between the West and Russia that had already taken place several months ago.
It is interesting that this incident is already being called a strategic loss for Russia in a large-scale “spy game” that continues against the background of military aggression against Ukraine. European governments, which strongly supported Ukraine, took advantage of this situation to launch an informational attack on Russia. Western media actively spread data about the failure of the FSB, emphasizing the weakness of the Russian special services in the face of European counterintelligence.
The information war declared by Europe is becoming a new front in the fight against the aggressor. Now Moscow is forced to respond not only to combat operations on the battlefield, but also to informational attacks from all sides.
