The National Police reports that as a result of the incident, a 69-year-old pensioner died, and five men aged between 32 and 41 were injured in varying degrees of severity. The police detained a 48-year-old suspect who threw a grenade after a conflict with a group of people.
On the evening of July 31, a conflict near a local store ended tragically in Kherson. An unknown man, after a verbal quarrel with a group of people, returned with a grenade and threw it in the direction of the site where people were resting. The explosion resulted in the death of a 69-year-old pensioner and the wounding of five more people aged between 32 and 41.
Criminal investigation operatives immediately started an investigation at the scene and established the identity of the intruder within a few minutes. The suspect, a 48-year-old local resident, was detained at his residence. The police are continuing their investigation to find out all the circumstances and motives of the crime.
