Odesa Oblast, 23 March 2025 – On Sunday, 23 March, an explosion occurred in one of the police departments of Odesa Oblast, killing a woman and injuring three police officers. The incident was reported by the press service of the Odesa regional police on its Facebook page.
According to law enforcement officials, the explosion occurred around 18:00 after a woman entered the building with a package. “Three policemen were injured. They are being provided with medical assistance. The package brought by the woman was probably an explosive,” the statement said. The victims are currently being provided with the necessary medical support.
The police did not disclose the exact location of the incident, but according to local public media, the explosion took place in the town of Bilyayivka, near Odesa. According to them, “a woman came in with a package and exploded”. There has been no official confirmation of this version from law enforcement.
According to the Dumskaya and Suspilne media outlets, criminal proceedings have been opened under the article “terrorist act”. An investigation is currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the incident, including the cause of the explosion and the identity of the deceased. The police urge citizens to remain calm and wait for the results of the investigation.
