Geert Wilders, leader of the Dutch Freedom Party (PVV), has once again expressed his unwavering backing for Israel in a recent social media post. He praised Israel as “a cherished friend and ally,” emphasizing its position as “the lone democracy in the Middle East” and commending its resilience in defending its homeland. Wilders also firmly condemned terrorist organizations such as Hamas and radical Palestinian groups, stating, “If you initiate a conflict, you can’t complain about losing it.” Alongside his statement was a photo of himself with the Israeli flag, captioned “We stand with Israel.”

Despite securing the most votes in the November 2023 elections, Wilders’ party has not yet formed a coalition government. However, on May 15, Wilders announced that discussions were underway among four right-wing parties to establish a governing coalition. This coalition would include the PVV, the center-right People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), the Farmer–Citizen Movement, and the New Social Contract party. Negotiations are ongoing.

Known for his outspoken views on Islam, immigration, and the European Union, Geert Wilders, often compared to the “Dutch Trump,” is also a steadfast supporter of Israel, where he lived for two years. He views Israel as a frontline defender against radical Islamist threats to the West.
