British Combat Medic and Volunteer Peter Fouche Killed in Ukraine
Fouche arrived in Ukraine in 2022 as a volunteer, helping to establish a field hospital in Brovary. He then completed medical training and joined the Territorial Defense. Fouche was also a co-founder of Project Konstantin, named in honor of a comrade who died during the battles for Kherson.
The foundation provides evacuation of wounded soldiers, supplies military personnel with vehicles and other essential equipment, and conducts medical training.
Joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the Start of the Full-Scale Invasion In January 2024, Peter Fouche took an oath and joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces as a combat medic.
In April, his 87-year-old mother from South Africa visited him. They had not seen each other for two years.
“His heroism knew no bounds. He actively participated in saving over 200 wounded Ukrainian soldiers, evacuating civilians from the most dangerous frontline cities, and delivering humanitarian aid,” the charitable foundation stated.
They emphasized that “Pete’s courage and selflessness will forever be etched in our hearts.”
The Soldier Wanted to Protect Children Peter left behind a 15-year-old daughter, Nicola. According to him, it was for her sake that he went to Ukraine.
“I love you and want to stay with you, but you are safe. The children there are not. They need protection,” Peter told his daughter before leaving.
