The Lebanese group Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel, firing five missiles at the central parts of the country and another 15 at the northern regions. This was reported by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), The Time of Israel reports.
According to the military, some of the missiles were intercepted by air defence systems, while others fell in the open. No casualties have been reported so far.
The Hezbollah group confirmed its involvement in the attacks. It claimed that its rockets were aimed at the Israeli military intelligence base of the 8200 unit in Glilot near Tel Aviv, as well as at a “naval base” near Haifa.
The incident was another stage in the escalation of the conflict amid ongoing fighting between Israel and other groups in the region.
