Kyiv, March 28 – The Head of the FSIU Oleh Ivashchenko joined the opening ceremony of the exhibition project of the National Bank of Ukraine “Hryvnia. More than money”. The event was held at the invitation of NBU Governor Andriy Pyshnyi.
The FSIU reports on Facebook.
The project aims to understand the significance of the Ukrainian national currency as a powerful symbol of statehood, identity and unity. The exhibition-expedition demonstrates the centuries-old history of the hryvnia, combining financial, cultural and artistic components.
“The hryvnia is not just money, but a story that reflects our identity, struggles and achievements. This project is another step towards understanding the significance of national symbols and their role in uniting society,” said Oleg Ivashchenko.
The exposition covers a wide historical period – from the first coins of Prince Volodymyr the Great to modern banknotes, which are not only a means of circulation but also a visual chronicle of the state. Separate halls of the exhibition reveal the artistic value of the hryvnia through paintings, graphics, sculpture and archival materials.
The NBU’s project is not only a cultural event, but also an important step in shaping national consciousness in times of war, when Ukrainians need unity, self-confidence and a foundation in their own history more than ever.
The exhibition will be open to the public and promises to become a landmark event in the country’s cultural calendar.
