Tel Aviv, 28 February 2025 – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Spokesperson’s Office (Spokesperson) reported on new operations conducted in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours. The military forces carried out a number of actions to neutralise potential threats in the land and sea areas.

Operations on land: deterring suspects

Over the past 24 hours, Israeli troops have conducted operations to deter suspected individuals who were approaching IDF positions in various parts of the Gaza Strip. According to the press service, these individuals posed a potential threat to the Israeli military, which forced the soldiers to take appropriate measures to ensure security.

“Any attempts to approach Israeli positions are perceived as a potential threat to which the IDF is forced to respond promptly,” the army said.

Control of the maritime zone: stopping violators

The Israeli Defence Forces also reported the detection of several vessels that violated security restrictions in the Gaza Strip maritime zone. According to the military, the ships ignored warnings and continued to move in the restricted area.

The IDF fired additional warning shots, after which the vessels returned to the coast. There are no reports of damage or casualties at this time.

“Any violation of maritime restrictions is considered a security threat. The IDF will act in accordance with established protocols,” the press service said.

A call to civilians

The Israeli Defence Forces once again called on residents of the Gaza Strip to follow instructions and avoid approaching Israeli military positions. Particular attention was focused on the need to do so:

Do not approach IDF military units.

Use the defined routes to check and move around.

Follow instructions to avoid endangering life.

“Our main goal is to minimise risks to civilians. We call on the residents of the Gaza Strip to cooperate and exercise caution,” the IDF said.

Aggravation of the situation

The recent incidents occurred against a backdrop of heightened tension in the region. The IDF continues to carry out anti-terrorist operations in the Gaza Strip and to strengthen its control over the land and sea borders. At the same time, Israel is actively cooperating with international organisations to provide humanitarian assistance to civilians in the conflict zone.

The IDF continues to monitor the situation in the Gaza Strip and calls on everyone to observe security rules in order to avoid an escalation of the conflict.
