On Wednesday night, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) carried out targeted strikes on Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon. This was reported by the IDF press service.
The Israeli military command stressed that Hezbollah continues to cynically use civilian infrastructure for terrorist purposes, turning residential areas into a springboard for attacks. Militants hide among civilians, using them as human shields – a tactic that has been repeatedly condemned by the international community.
“The Israeli Defence Forces will resolutely oppose any attempt by Hezbollah to re-establish or establish a military presence under the cover of civilians,” the official statement said.
Information on the extent of the damage or possible casualties is currently being clarified. The IDF emphasises that the actions were preventive and targeted exclusively at sites that posed a real threat to Israel’s security.
The operational situation on the Israeli-Lebanese border remains tense – Israel has repeatedly stated its readiness for a large-scale response in the event of further provocations by Hezbollah.
