On the night of 12 March, the Israeli Defence Forces conducted raids in Judea and Samaria, which resulted in the detention of 12 people suspected of terrorist activity, Newsru reports.

During the operation, the Israeli military discovered several caches of weapons, ammunition and explosives weighing about 100 kg.

Where were the weapons found?

A significant arsenal of firearms and ammunition was seized in Ar-Rama.

A large cache of explosives was found in Kabatya.

The detainees were handed over to investigators of the Israeli security service Shabak for further interrogation.

What does this mean?

In recent months, tensions in the Judea and Samaria region have risen sharply. Israeli intelligence is actively working to prevent possible terrorist attacks, and such raids are aimed at destroying terrorist infrastructure in the conflict zone.

The seizure of 100 kg of explosives could have prevented potential attacks by extremists.

Whether this is a temporary suppression of the threat or part of a larger IDF operation will be revealed in the coming days.
