The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), in coordination with the Israeli Security Service (Shabak), continue active hostilities against terrorist organisations in the Gaza Strip. This was reported by the army’s press service in a report for the past day.
Operations in southern Gaza
In the Shabura neighbourhood of Rafah, Israeli forces discovered and destroyed an underground tunnel 20 metres deep and several hundred metres long. The route was used by Hamas militants as a place of concentration and a link between several underground routes in the area.
During a separate operation, the military found a large weapons cache in a building that used to serve as a school. The discovered arsenal included mortars, hand grenades, explosives and other weapons.
North Gaza: terrorist ambush destroyed
In the northern Gaza Strip, IDF forces discovered a group of terrorists preparing an ambush several hundred metres from Israeli positions. In coordination with the Israeli Air Force, the militants were destroyed in a precision strike.
Rafah and the Morag corridor
In the area of Rafah and the Morag corridor, the Israeli military discovered another weapons depot and several tunnel mines used by terrorists.
Air strikes on Hamas targets
Over the past 24 hours, Israeli aircraft struck about 35 terrorist targets across the Gaza Strip.
The destroyed facilities included a Hamas weapons production facility in southern Gaza, as well as a launch pad with rocket launchers aimed at Israel.
The operations are ongoing. The IDF emphasises that it will continue to destroy terrorist infrastructure until the threat to Israeli citizens is completely eliminated.
