The IDF reports another successful operation against terrorists in the Gaza Strip. Military units of the Northern Gaza Brigade, operating as part of the 252nd Division, neutralised a large-scale underground route used by Hamas militants.
According to the Israeli Defence Forces, the tunnel network was discovered in northern Gaza. The underground route was about 1.2 km long and about 20 metres deep.
During the operation, the troops also found a nearby weapons depot with about 20 explosive devices, an anti-tank guided missile and other weapons prepared for attacks on the Israeli military.
In addition, using drones, the IDF spotted several terrorists attempting to plant an explosive device near Israeli military positions. As a result of the coordinated action, the Israeli Air Force conducted a precision strike and eliminated the militants.
The Israeli Defence Forces stressed that operations against terrorist organisations in the Gaza Strip will continue as long as necessary to protect the citizens of the State of Israel.
