The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) has announced the launch of a new phase of ground operations in the area of Al-Janayn, on the outskirts of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip. According to army representatives, the operation is aimed at expanding the security zone in the southern direction and neutralising threats from terrorist groups.

Over the past few hours, IDF units have carried out targeted actions to eliminate Hamas terrorist infrastructure in the area. The military reported the destruction of several enemy facilities and positions used to coordinate attacks on Israeli territory.

In parallel with the ground operation, the Israeli Defence Forces and the Israeli Air Force (along with intelligence agencies) continue large-scale air strikes against Hamas and Islamic Jihad targets in various parts of the Gaza Strip.

We have been hit:

– weapons and ammunition depots,

– missile launchers,

– fortified combat positions,

– control centres,

– and other critical terrorist infrastructure.

According to IDF estimates, the attacks killed dozens of militants, including terrorists involved in mortar attacks on Israeli territory.

The army stressed that the strikes are part of a broad campaign to neutralise the terrorist threat, which has been underway since October 2023, and declared its determination to continue operations until the complete destruction of the military capabilities of terrorist groups in Gaza.
