The operation was part of an ongoing campaign against Hezbollah threats
The Israeli Defence Forces reported that on Wednesday, the Israeli Air Force conducted a precision strike against a militant of the Radwan terrorist unit, the elite wing of the Hezbollah organisation. The strike took place in the Qantara region of southern Lebanon, near the Israeli border.
According to the IDF, the killed militant was directly involved in the planning and execution of attacks on Israeli territory. His elimination is considered an important step in deterring further terrorist activities.
“The IDF continues to act decisively to neutralise any threat to Israeli civilians. Those who attempt to attack our borders will not be left unanswered,” the IDF said in an official communique.
The operation took place against the backdrop of escalating tensions on the northern front, where Hezbollah has intensified its shelling of Israeli border areas. In response, Israel has been conducting systematic air and artillery strikes against terrorist targets in Lebanon.
