IDF neutralises terrorists near Turmus Ayya: one killed, two wounded

West Bank – During a counter-terrorist operation near the settlement of Turmus Ayya, IDF forces neutralised a group of terrorists who were throwing stones at passing vehicles, endangering the lives of civilians. This was reported by the IDF press centre.

Details of the operation

In the course of the actions, the soldiers:

– returned fire after the threat was detected;

– We killed one terrorist;

– Two more were wounded and detained.

The detainees admitted that they deliberately attacked the car on the highway near Turmus-Aya to provoke a clash. The stones could have caused accidents and civilian casualties.

“The IDF will continue to act decisively in Judea and Samaria to protect the residents of the area,” the army said in an official statement.

Context.

Turmus Aya is located north of Ramallah and has been the scene of unrest on several occasions. Israeli security forces have been conducting targeted operations against terrorist activity, especially in areas where there has been an increase in attacks on Israelis.

Recently, the IDF has increased its presence in the West Bank in response to an increase in the number of attacks using rocks, Molotov cocktails and improvised weapons.
