On Facebook, the Chief Rabbi of Ukraine Moshe Asman shared a personal story that touched deep emotions. He reported meeting Miri ben Ami, the mother of Yosef Haim Hana, who was abducted by terrorists on October 7 during a festival on the border with the Gaza Strip.
Rabbi Asman expressed his feelings about this meeting:
"Listening to her story, I felt the depth of her pain and anxiety... It is impossible to convey in words - the horror of being separated from her son, the unknown and the daily fear for his life... Just like Ukrainians, whose relatives and friends were also kidnapped and are in captivity" .
This experience reminds us that tragedies know no borders and that one mother’s suffering is felt by many others. The stories of abducted and captured people in Ukraine and other countries are intertwined, creating a great pain that knows no bounds.
Rabbi Asman called for mutual support in these difficult times:
"We must support each other, share our warmth and love, because only together will we find the strength to survive this difficult time."
In conclusion, he expressed his hope and prayers for the return of all kidnapped and captives:
"We pray for the return home - of all the abducted and captured!"
This emotional meeting and call for unity once again reminded us of the importance of support and solidarity in the fight against difficulties.
