Israel intercepts rockets from Gaza, wounds soldier on Lebanon border

On Saturday, 12 April, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) reported two separate incidents in the southern and northern directions, indicating that high tensions remain in the border areas.

According to the army’s official statement, three rockets were launched from the southern enclave following air raid warnings in the open area near Gaza. All of them crossed the Israeli border and were successfully intercepted by the Israeli Air Force. There were no reports of casualties or material damage. The circumstances of the incident are currently under investigation.

In addition, the IDF confirmed that earlier in the day, one of its reservist soldiers was seriously injured during operations near the Lebanese border. The victim was evacuated to a medical facility for treatment and his family was informed.

The military noted that Israel continues to take measures to ensure the safety of the population and is ready to respond to any threats from terrorist groups.
