The Israeli Air Force hit the Mezzeh neighbourhood in the Syrian capital Damascus, where the Iranian Embassy is located. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, at least four people were killed and more than ten injured in the strike. This information may be updated as rescuers continue to clear the rubble.
According to reports, the target of the attack was a building visited by officers of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). In turn, The Times of Israel reports that the Israeli strike targeted a senior official of the Hezbollah terrorist organisation from the 4400 unit, which was engaged in the delivery of weapons from Iran to Lebanon.
The attack targeted a residential building located a few hundred metres from the Iranian Embassy. According to preliminary data, this building is associated with the activities of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
