The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) reported that today several Israeli civilians entered the area of the barrier separating Israel from the Gaza Strip. However, none of the civilians crossed the border with Gaza.
To ensure security, IDF units were quickly dispatched to the scene and safely removed the civilians from the danger zone. The citizens were then handed over to the Israeli police for further questioning.
“Approaching the fence is dangerous and interferes with the operational activities of the security forces in the border area,” the army said.
The IDF once again called on the public to follow the instructions and not to approach the barrier without official permission. The incident is being investigated by law enforcement.
