In Kyiv, an event at the JCC Beit Menachem community center featured a lecture by the Chief Rabbi.
The “Jerusalem Post” reported on a meeting between senior Ukrainian officers and Kyiv’s Chief Rabbi, Jonathan Markovitch, at the end of June. The visit took place within the capital’s Jewish community.
“During the meeting, Rabbi Markovitch delivered a lecture at the JCC Beit Menachem community center on Jewish values and discussed the challenges faced by Jews in the Ukrainian army,” notes the “Jerusalem Post.” The rabbi also mentioned various forms of assistance that the Ukrainian army provides to Jewish soldiers.
Additionally, officers presented Rabbi Markovitch with a “Certificate of Appreciation” issued by a Ukrainian military higher educational institution. “The document was awarded to the Chief Rabbi for his spiritual support, which contributes to the high-quality execution of combat missions in defense of Ukraine,” reports the “Jerusalem Post.”
