French President Emmanuel Macron made another statement on the situation around Gaza and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

In his post on Platform X, he stressed the importance of a political solution to the issue and supported the creation of a Palestinian state – but without the participation of the Hamas terrorist group.

“Yes to peace. Yes to Israel’s security. Yes to a Palestinian state without Hamas,” Macron wrote, adding that this process includes the release of all hostages, a lasting ceasefire, the immediate resumption of humanitarian aid and political dialogue.

The French President stressed that he recognises “the Palestinians’ legitimate right to a state and peace”, as well as “the right of Israelis to live in security and be recognised by their neighbours”.

Macron also announced an international conference on conflict resolution and the creation of two states in June, which should be a “turning point” on the road to peace.

He called on the international community to remain united, not to succumb to provocations and to counter disinformation.
