Russians launched a massive air attack on Kupiansk in Kharkiv region. Over the course of several hours, they dropped more than 20 guided aerial bombs on the city.
This was announced by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.
“This afternoon, the Russian occupiers launched a series of air strikes on the city in Kharkiv region. An 85-year-old woman was wounded in the explosions, and a 76-year-old man suffered an acute stress reaction,” the official said.
Casualties and destruction
The shockwave from the explosions damaged residential buildings and critical infrastructure. Fires broke out at the sites of the hits, including one of the garages.
According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a 51-year-old man was killed in one of the attacks.
“The exact type of aerial munition used by the Russian army to attack the city is currently being established,” the ministry added.
Emergency services operate at constant risk, as the threat of new attacks does not disappear.
Another attack in the Kharkiv region
A person was killed and four others were injured in Kharkiv region as a result of a drone strike near a car.
Russian terror across Ukraine
On the night of 19 March, Russia launched a large-scale attack with drones and ballistic missiles. Ukraine’s air defence forces managed to shoot down 72 drones out of 145 launched.
In Kyiv, the air alert lasted almost six hours. Russia attacked the capital with 45 drones that tried to break through the Ukrainian air defence system.
The war is on, and Russia continues to strike at peaceful cities, trying to sow chaos and fear among Ukrainians.
