Russia attacks capital with more than 30 drones

On the night of 9 March, Russian occupiers launched a massive drone attack on Kyiv. According to the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA), 33 enemy drones were spotted in the capital’s airspace.

“At night, 33 enemy UAVs were spotted on the outskirts of the capital. 12 of them were destroyed by air defence systems, the rest were lost locally or left the airspace,” the KCMA said in a statement.

There were no casualties or damage

Fortunately, according to the city authorities, there were no reports of damage or injuries as a result of the falling debris.

The air defence system worked effectively, preventing attacks on critical infrastructure and residential areas of the capital.

Russia intensifies drone attacks

Russian troops have recently stepped up their use of kamikaze drones to attack Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities. Such attacks are usually accompanied by missile attacks, which increases the burden on air defences.

The Ukrainian defence forces continue to strengthen the defences of the capital, repelling most of the attacks by Russian drones.
