On the night of Monday, 24 March, Kyiv region became one of the targets of another massive attack by Russian drones. As a result of an enemy strike in Fastiv district, a man was wounded, two private houses were damaged and a fire broke out on the territory of a commercial enterprise. This was reported by the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.

According to the CMA, the 37-year-old man sustained superficial shrapnel wounds to his abdomen, chest, thighs and head. He was hospitalised and is being provided with all necessary medical care.

In addition to damaging residential buildings, a fire broke out at the site of the attack, which rescuers quickly extinguished.

Fastiv district was not the only region to suffer from the nighttime attack. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, on the night of 24 March, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 99 Shahed-type attack drones and drone simulators from the directions of Millerovo, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

Air defences were deployed across the country. Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups were involved in repelling the attack. As of 08:00 a.m., 57 drones were confirmed downed in the south, north, west and centre of the country. Another 36 imitator drones were lost without causing any damage.

The impact of the strikes was recorded in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Kirovohrad and Zaporizhzhia regions. This is the second major attack in the last two days: on the night of 23 March, the Russians launched 147 drones, 97 of which were destroyed by air defence forces.

In response, Ukrainian forces continue to operate on the deep front. The day before, in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation, the Special Operations Forces, in coordination with the Main Intelligence Directorate, missile forces and artillery, destroyed four enemy helicopters – two Ka-52s and two Mi-8s.

Ukraine remains on full combat alert, while the enemy continues to use massive drone attacks in an attempt to deplete the air defence system.
