April 6, around 12:00 – The Israeli Air Force conducted a targeted strike on two militants of the Hezbollah terrorist group in the Zibqin area in southern Lebanon. According to the IDF, the target was destroyed as the militants were attempting to rebuild elements of the terrorist infrastructure using engineering equipment.
The strike was another part of Israel’s efforts to prevent Hezbollah from strengthening its military presence in the border areas. Tensions on the Israeli-Lebanese border have not been abating in recent months, and such strikes are aimed at preventing further escalation.
At the same time, the IDF Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Herzi HaLevi, visited the base where the female observers are being trained. Addressing the new recruits, he stressed their key role in the country’s security system:
“You are the eyes of the nation. Whoever gives more will receive more. Each of us must take on the stretcher of national security,” HaLevy said.
According to the general, female observers play a critical role in identifying threats and preventing terrorist attacks. The full text of the address is published on the IDF’s official website.
The Israeli military continues to monitor the situation on the northern front, responding to any attempts by terrorist organisations to strengthen their positions near the border.
