Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga met with Vatican Secretary for Relations with States Paul Richard Gallagher. The diplomats discussed a number of important issues, including the release of Ukrainian citizens from Russian captivity, Andriy Sybiga reported on social media site X.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council. Sibiga said that during the meeting he informed Gallagher about Russia’s ongoing attacks on Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure. He also stressed the importance of further humanitarian efforts to free more Ukrainians held in Russian captivity.
“We discussed further steps on humanitarian initiatives to free our citizens, and I expressed my gratitude for the Vatican’s support for our efforts,” the minister added.
