Canada will keep the normalisation of the situation in Ukraine among its key priorities when it begins its presidency of the Group of Seven (G7). This was announced by Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly on her page on the social network X, Time Ukraine Israel reports.

“Since taking over the Canadian presidency of the Group of Seven, my first official conversation was with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga. Ukraine remains a priority for the G7,” Joly wrote.

She noted that the parties discussed the current situation in Ukraine and its future needs.

“Canada will always remain a firm ally of Ukraine,” the Canadian foreign minister stressed.

Canada, which has long provided significant support to Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression, plans to use its G7 presidency to consolidate the international community’s efforts in the areas of security, reconstruction and economic stability of Ukraine.
