G7 Summit 2025
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has strongly condemned Russia’s missile attacks on Kyiv and other cities, calling them “outrageous barbarism”. He said this before his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the G7 summit.
“I want to express the deepest condolences of myself and the Canadian people to the families and friends of the victims and injured,” Carney said.
According to him, the G7 members have already discussed the situation, stressing the importance of putting maximum pressure on Russia, which “refuses to sit down at the negotiating table”.
The discussion of the Ukrainian issue will continue throughout the day among the G7 leaders and invited countries.
The statement came amid intense Russian shelling, including the use of drones and missiles, which has claimed the lives of dozens of civilians in Kyiv, Odesa and Zaporizhzhia.
