The Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General Mykhailo Drapaty, has initiated an independent investigation with the participation of military counterintelligence to establish all the circumstances of the missile attack on the training ground that killed Ukrainian soldiers. He wrote about this on Facebook on the morning of Monday, 3 March.
According to him, the tragedy was the result of an enemy attack, but war requires clear decisions and responsibility. He stressed that none of those involved in decision-making that day would escape responsibility.
“I foresee that they will try to hide the truth in the fog of bureaucracy. But I will not allow this to happen. Not a single detail will be overlooked, and the perpetrators will not be able to ‘get away with it’,” Drapaty said.
He also stressed that negligence and outdated approaches in the army must be eradicated, as every commander is responsible for the lives of his subordinates.
A detailed investigation is currently underway, and the military law enforcement service and law enforcement agencies are receiving all the necessary information to ensure the transparency of the process.
