Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga arrived in the Turkish capital on the day of the peace talks wearing the national costume of vyshyvanka. He described this symbolic “armour” as a manifestation of combat readiness for intensive diplomacy.
He announced this on his Instagram.
“Arrived in Ankara to participate in the talks of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In such national “armour” – full combat readiness for a day of intense diplomacy,” Sibiga wrote.
The diplomat also congratulated Ukrainians on Vyshyvanka Day, urging them to dress in national costumes and be proud of their traditions.
Peacekeeping mission in Turkey
The arrival of the Ukrainian delegation in Ankara comes amid intensified efforts to launch a new phase of peace talks with the participation of international mediators. The participation of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the talks underscores the seriousness of Kyiv’s intentions to achieve a just peace.
