According to the “Washington Post”, based on a source close to the Israeli leadership, Iran may attack Israel in the coming days. This information comes against the backdrop of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s statements about a “decisive response” by Israel and the United States in response to the latest attacks on Iran.
The Ayatollah’s announcement comes after a series of recent incidents, including unspecified explosions and drone attacks on strategic sites in Iran, which are believed to have been carried out by external forces. Hence, tensions between Iran and Israel, which are already in a long-running conflict with mutual accusations of aggression, have been rising.
In the context of these threats, Israel has stepped up security measures, training of its defence forces and air defence system in preparation for possible attacks. The Israeli leadership has publicly stated its determination to protect the country and its citizens from any threats.
Given the potential severity of the threat posed by Iran, regional security in the Middle East remains extremely volatile, and the international community is closely monitoring developments in view of the potential wide-ranging consequences of any escalation.
